How long are the tutoring sessions?

We offer tutoring session lengths between 45 to 90 minutes focusing on a single subject at time. For more information about our session lengths and recommendations, please feel free to contact our team for assistance.

What will my child learn during lessons? Is the content aligned to the curriculum?

We personalise our private tutoring lessons so that our students and tutors can build on the content taught at school. As all of our learning materials are mapped to the Australian Curriculum, we also help students address their individual learning gaps and learn topics they need for their year level.

What qualifications do your tutors have?

Our tutors are highly qualified subject specialists and either hold teaching qualifications or are experienced in a field related to their respective subjects. We have hand-selected and personally vetted each of our online tutors for their personality, communication skills and academic knowledge to maintain the quality of our tutoring sessions. Furthermore, we also check that our tutors have a valid Working with Children check (WWCC) prior to commencing any sessions to ensure the safety of our students.

Our Year 2-6 Maths tutoring helps your child build the foundational maths skills they need to feel more confident at school. Our tutors can help with number facts, times tables, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, measurement, geometry and worded problems. Every Maths tutoring session is personalised to your child’s current level, schoolwork and learning goals, whether they need help catching up, keeping up or getting ahead.

Our Year 7-10 Maths tutoring supports your child with algebra, equations, graphing, geometry, measurement, statistics, probability, financial maths and problem-solving. Our tutors can also help your child build stronger exam skills, understand homework questions and prepare for senior maths subjects. We’ll focus on the topics your child is learning at school while also revisiting any earlier gaps that are making maths feel harder than it needs to be.

For senior ATAR students, we offer senior Year 10-12 Maths tutoring specialising in Essential Maths, General Maths, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Maths aligned to the QCAA syllabus. Our tutors can help your child with current school topics, assignments, exam preparation, problem-solving and confidence building, with lessons tailored to their learning goals and any knowledge or skill gaps they'd like to work on.

Our Maths tutoring sessions are held through a live, face-to-face video call using our online learning platform. Your child and their tutor can use a shared virtual whiteboard and writing space to work through calculations, diagrams, graphs and problem-solving questions together in real time. Kindly note that a digital pen or stylus can be helpful for learning and engagement during online Maths lessons, especially when showing working on the whiteboard, though it is not essential!

Our online Maths tutoring lessons are held through a live, face-to-face video call using our online learning platform. Your child will be able to work on a shared whiteboard with their tutor and learn how to solve equations, break down worded problems, complete step-by-step calculations, apply concepts and go through schoolwork or revision together. Lessons are personalised to your child’s year level, confidence, school topics and learning goals.

Knowing how to break down a worded Maths problem is definitely a common learning hurdle as it involves understanding the key words in a question, choosing the right operation or mathematical approach or break the question into smaller steps (i.e. What do I have to do first to get to the next step?). During lessons, our Maths tutors can help your child identify the important information in a question, translate the question into simpler steps and teach your child how to set out their working clearly. This will help your child gain confidence with Maths problem-solving over time so they know what to look for on their own when studying independently.

Yes, definitely! Our online Maths tutors can help your child practise complex and unfamiliar questions, including higher-level A-grade style problems. These questions often require students to apply knowledge in a new way, connect multiple topics together or explain their reasoning clearly. During lessons, your child’s tutor can model how to approach harder questions step by step, identify patterns, choose a strategy and check whether their answer makes sense.
